"Play is our brain's favourite way of learning." Diane Ackerman

We are still open online

While the Museum doors are closed during this pandemic our you can view our collection and the inspiring stories for free online. Why not check out our Art Collection, 3D Collections, our Collections Blog, or even take a Virtual Tour. Perhaps sit back and enjoy our Oral History clips of storms, stories and explosions.

We have lots of fun family activities on our Learning Resources page and you can find out how to earn your ‘Maritime Investigator’ award here too! Our Museum at Home playlist will help you to learn about steam, discover how to make a paper boat and find out more about the important roles of a Curator or Vistor Services staff in the Museum.

Given the uncertainty we are all facing together, it is not possible to say when our museums will be able to reopen to visitors, but we look forward to welcoming you back as soon as we can. Have a go at some of these activities and let us know on social media by sending in your pictures and stories.
