Punchy and Judy, a Helter Skelter, coconut shy and delicious ice cream by Vanilla Joe’s are just some of the highlights of the Scottish Maritime Museum’s Seaside Festival which will open in the Museum Courtyard and Linthouse on Irvine Harbourside on Saturday 3 August.

The Seaside Festival, which is a celebration of the forthcoming National Play Day, will run between 12noon – 4pm and, as usual, up to three children go free with each adult admission.

With the Museum’s current 20% discount on tickets booked online at www.scottishmaritimemuseum.org before Sunday 4 August, the Seaside Festival is great value for money as well as a great day out.

There’ll be lots of fun for all the family at the Seaside Festival with Uncle Billy the Entertainer, who will put on Punch and Judy shows throughout the day; a dress up photobooth with family photos to take away; a Helter Skelter and coconut shy.

Attractions and activities will also include seaside games such as Pin the Tail on the Donkey, Hoopla and Test of Strength.

Vanilla Joe’s Ice Cream Cart will serve up delicious Victorian Penny Lick ice creams and Class Cocktails will pour refreshing non-alcoholic Victorian drinks.

Museum staff will be there to welcome everyone in Victorian costume too!

To get everyone in the swing, there’ll also be seaside crafts and activities for the two days running up to the Seaside Festival.

Visitors to the Museum on Thursday 1 and Friday 2 August will find lots of family fun with Victorian craft activities and games like Gird and Cleek, Diablo, Hopscotch and Pin the Tail on the Donkey.
