Scottish Maritime Museum (Denny Tank) Castle Street, Dumbarton
Saturday 20 August
An exciting, one-off and family friendly theatre workshop led in collaboration with Stravaig Theatre will take place at the Scottish Maritime Museum (Denny Tank) on Castle Street, Dumbarton, on Saturday 20 August.
At the drop in, all day experience, visitors can pick up top theatrical tips from Stravaig Theatre as they breathe life into history by building characters, performing stories and creating short films based on the Museum’s Second World War artefacts and archives.
The Bring an Exhibition to Life workshop is part of the Second World War and Holocaust Partnership Programme 2022 led by Go Industrial, a dynamic group of industrial museums including the Scottish Maritime Museum.
Visitors to the Museum can drop in, pick up some interesting activities to take part in as they explore the Denny Tank. After touring the Museum, they can then transform what they’ve found into an engaging short video.
Sarah Takhar, Learning and Access Officer at the Scottish Maritime Museum says:
This fun and educational workshop is great for all ages, whether you’re 8 or 88! No theatre experience is necessary and there’ll be lots of fun, from the chance to dress up as people would have in the 1940s to playing around with props and objects.
“If you have an interest in history, local heritage or performing then this event is for you!”
