‘It Was Fine When It Left Us’ RMS Titanic Family Discovery Session

1.30pm – 3.30pm Saturday 13th July
Scottish Maritime Museum
Harbour Road, Irvine

The Scottish Maritime Museum on Irvine Harbourside brings back the popular RMS Titanic Family Discovery Session on Saturday 13 July.

At the session, which takes place between 1.30pm and 3.30pm, families can step back in time with local historian Bill Fitzpatrick and hear more about RMS Titanic, her crew and that fateful night in the North Atlantic Ocean.

The talk is followed by a Q&A and an entertaining and educational workshop.

At the workshop, everyone can enjoy learning about how Morse Code works and how the Titanic was constructed. Then, it’s all aboard designing and crafting a model boat and seeing if it floats.

Eva Bukowska, Exhibitions and Events Officer at the Scottish Maritime Museum, says:

This family event is always very popular so we highly recommend everyone books their ticket in advance.

“It’s a brilliant session for everyone, regardless of age or interests and, as usual, up to three children go FREE with each Adult/Concession ticket.

“Whether you’re a history buff, an engineering enthusiast or just curious about the RMS Titanic, it’s a great afternoon out.”

Refreshments are included.

Tickets can be purchased though the Museum’s website www.scottishmaritimemuseum.org.
