‘Harbourside Headspace’ Community Exhibition Opens at The Scottish Maritime Museum

Opens Saturday 21st March

A new community co-produced art exhibition will open at the Scottish Maritime Museum on Irvine Harbourside on Saturday 21st March.
Created in collaboration with unpaid carers from across North Ayrshire, Harbourside Headspace explores Ayrshire’s coastal landscape through the creative techniques of printmaking, paper crafts and needle felted artworks.

The free exhibition will be on display in the Museum’s Boatshop, located alongside Puffers Café Bistro on Irvine Harbourside, until Wednesday 22nd April.

The Harbourside Headspace creative workshops and exhibition have been made possible by North Ayrshire Carers Community Fund, managed by North Ayrshire Carers Gateway, and Museums Galleries Scotland.

Jennifer Pless, Community Engagement and Development Officer at the Scottish Maritime Museum, says:

We’re delighted to present our latest community co-produced exhibition, created with a group of unpaid carers from North Ayrshire.

“Inspired by paintings from our national maritime art collection, this talented group used a variety of creative techniques and repurposed materials to produce this wonderful exhibition.

“The final design is the result of a real collaboration between the group and the Museum and we’re excited for visitors to see it on display in the Boatshop!”

Harbourside Headspace is free to view and will be on display in the Museum Boatshop on Irvine Harbourside from Saturday 21st March to Wednesday 22nd April.
