Summer Book Group

Where

Linthouse Building, Scottish Maritime Museum

When

Start: 2pm
End: 3:30pm

For summer 2024 the Scottish Maritime Museum are launching an adult book group for the local community. Come along and join the Scottish Maritime Museum exploring some novels written by Scottish Authors and chatting about how the stories have links to Scotland’s maritime past. There will of course be cake and a cuppa too.

Our first meeting will be on the 3rd of July at the Museum from 2-3:30pm. We’ll be chatting about a novel written by James Robertson called “And the Land Lay Still”

“This novel is a portrait of modern Scotland as seen through the eyes of natives and immigrants, journalists and politicians, drop-outs and spooks, all trying to make their way through a country in the throes of great and rapid change. It is a moving, sweeping story of family, friendship, struggle and hope epic in every sense.”

If you are interested in joining our book group please email communities@scotmaritime.org.uk to book your place.

This book group is supported by North Ayrshire Libraries so, once you’ve registered, library copies of the book will be available to collect from the Museum.
