SHIP AHOY! Scotland’s Maritime Heritage Exhibition

A family event enjoying a walk down memory lane with memorabilia, postcards, photographs, artefacts, slide shows & books. Over thirty model steamers and other vessels outside on the water & inside along with many stands from the world of shipping celebrating Scotland’s Maritime heritage, from the Clyde to the Western Isles.

This is the tenth Ship Ahoy! Exhibition in its eleven-year history and the Museum is pleased to welcome it back to Irvine. The Museum is open for FREE on this day and although you won’t get the full museum experience, you will get to see most exhibits and inside the new temporary exhibition, ‘Ships Models- History of Shipping in Miniature‘.

The stars of the Exhibition are the model steamers and other vessels, many outside on the water, utilising the boating pond, with some unique ones inside. To celebrate Scotland’s maritime heritage, from the Clyde to the Western Isles many stalls from the world of shipping enhance the main museum Linthouse gallery.
