The Scottish Maritime Museum on Irvine Harbourside is calling on Ayrshire’s choirs and singing groups to help fill the Linthouse with festive cheer at this year’s Winter Market at the end of the month.
The Museum is on the lookout for lively, enthusiastic choirs to perform festive favourites against the backdrop of the beautiful Victorian, glass-roofed Linthouse on Sunday 30 November.
There are four, 30 minute performance slots available – 11am, 1pm, 2pm and 3pm.
Claire Jones, Learning, Engagement and Volunteer Manager at the Scottish Maritime Museum, says:
We’re looking for choirs and groups who want to sing their hearts out, showcase their talents and get everyone in the holiday spirit!
“Our Winter Market is one of the largest Christmas fairs on the West coast so it’s a fabulous opportunity to reach new audiences and for groups to raise funds with donation buckets if they’d like.
“The choir slots are hugely popular with local groups and visitors alike so they fill up fast. Any interested groups should get in touch as soon as they can!”
The Scottish Maritime Museum’s Winter Market is free and takes place from Friday 28 to Sunday 30 November.
Over the long weekend, visitors can browse an exciting selection of handcrafted gifts, festive decorations and artisan food and drink. On different days over the weekend, they can also enjoy live glassworking demonstrations and hands-on glassworking workshops and younger visitors can ‘Meet the Elves’.
