Highlights this year include the shimmering steel Kelpie maquettes sparkling with light on Irvine Harbour, once one of Scotland’s most important ports.

The three metre high maquettes are a fabulous opportunity to see what the world’s largest equine sculptures created by Andy Scott look like close up.

Look out too for brightly lit historic vessels and illuminated buildings along the waterfront, twinkling skiffs racing along the River Irvine (Saturday), our beautiful twinkling George Wyllie inspired Paper Boat, the world’s first, music-making Illumaphonium and ‘On the Tide’ a stunning light installation trailing from Harbourside onto the water designed by Squid Soup.

Please note: Most illumination events are FREE. However, if you’d like to attend the Light, Fire and Aerial Art Spectacular you will need a ticket.
