Model of Pak Jute Mill Ltd Jute Boat

Model of Pak Jute Mill Ltd Jute Boat

This model boat comes from the collection of Dundee HeritageTrust looking after Verdant Works, also known as Scotland’s Jute Museum, telling the story of Dundee’s textile industry.

This is a model of a river boat which is typical of the type of boat used for carrying raw jute from the fields. It has a curved shape wooden cabin with a basket roof and on the side reads ‘Pak Jute Mill Ltd’ in white.

The 3D model was created by the Scottish Maritime Museum as a part of the Scanning The Horizon project, working with collections from Industrial Museums Scotland (Go Industrial).
